I successfully tanked Heroic Shattered Halls tonight. Wewt! In the last three days, I’ve found myself running the heroics for the Naaru Trials series (now-obsolete TK attunement series that grants Champion oft the Naaru title). For Shadow Labs and Steamvaults, we ran with a prot warrior MT and me as dps/off-tank. Why off-tank a 5-man? Mostly because that’s the group makeup we had and going bear made up for my abysmal lack of crowd control for the larger pulls. As a matter of fact, our heroic SL run was prot warrior, feral druid (me), BM hunter, balance druid, and holy pally. We managed the large pulls in Blackheart’s room with a combination of one trap, cyclone spam from the balance druid, me picking up mobs going for the healer, and just generally a chaotic mess, but we got it done. Heroic SL with no pally tank and only one cc class? Heh… We ran heroic Arc early this prot warrior tank, me, another feral druid, hunter, and holy pally. Arcatraz doesn’t really have any large groups to pull so it went fairly smoothly. I wasn’t expecting to do heroic SH tonight (had arranged with our raid MT…prot Pally…to tank it for some of us who needed it but it was AV weekend and he spent all weekend on his warlock >..< So that left a feral druid tanking heroic Shattered Halls with only one person willing/able to really CC anything (the Warlock was spamming fear with mixed results). We cleared the notorious room before the first boss with one attempt. We wiped on the second boss (the one after the gauntlet that’s only there on Heroic) when he spawned 2 extra mobs on top of the healer right as I charged in. We wiped once on Kargath. Then we downed him (one hostage sadly did not survive, but we still got credit for our Naaru trial quest and the quest you get inside the dungeon to rescue the second hostage). All in all, I was most pleased. Pally ;D (I kid…

Just want to give a little window into the Wrath Beta testing from a feral POV. My druid has basically always been feral (couple restro repecs, but those never lasted). I’m pretty deep into T4 content, mostly as a tank. There are quite a few HUGE changes to the feral play style (and I’ve only gotten to lvl 71 on the beta realm). I’m sure I’m forgetting quite a few (or haven’t found ‘em yet), but I’ll add to this list as I think of/come across big play style changes. Here’s a few: 1. Energy and Mana no longer As soon as it is able, it just starts to go up. Add the fact that OOC is a passive ability, and in Cat form, I almost never run out of energy. And if I do, just pop Tiger’s Fury (talented) to get 60 free energy (and attack power buff). 2. Ferocious Bite damage has gone way up. On trash mobs I’m used to seeing 2600-2900 crits on a 4-5 point FB (live). This has gone up in Wrath to over 3700 damage, and this is before I changed out any gear. 3. Haste is haste. Specifically there is no more spell haste or melee haste, just haste. One of the early quest rewards gave equip: +haste and use: +spellpower. I took it to replace my last green attack power trinket. Sure I’ll almost never use the +spellpower, but the haste works for me as a feral. Looks like a trend towards combined itemization. Also, this is the only quest reward which was an upgrade so far…but I imagine I’ll be in lvl 80 greens/blues soon enough. 4. Maim no longer breaks on any damage. So it doesn’t stop your auto attack. Its kinda like roots now, where damage may break the effect. If I get Recount working in the beta, I’ll try to give an idea on how our dps goes. On live (and in cat form/gear) I do 500-580 dps on trash mobs (self buffed) and top out around 720-750 dps on raid bosses. I hope to see these numbers go up before I change out any

I think that the priorities are similar to lvl 70 boomkins: SH > SP > crit = haste(depending on rotation) Generally boomkins don’t have huge problems with mana. With dreamstate, increased mana from Furor, and the option of OoC and/or Intensity, MP5 shouldn’t be a highly sought after stat for boomkins. As always you want to be spell capped. The next priority is still straight SP as far as I know. Haste is much more common in the Xpac, but I think it still plays a fairly similar role.-Why is it a penny for your thoughts, but you have to put your two cents in? Somebody’s making a penny here.Well, more than ten of us in our guild have dinged 80 already, and our guild leader is talking about trying out our first 10-man raid next Saturday. As I’ve been leveling, I’ve just been gathering various gear with haste, crit, mp/5, and hit stats. However, I’m unsure (outside of +hit) of what my moonkin needs more of. I was able to find out that the moonkin needs 342 hit rating with Balance of Power talent, or 263 hit rating with BoP and Improved Faerie Fire (source). But, beyond that..which should I try to stack and to what degree? I haven’t been able to find any other info on the other druid sites I know of. Haste? Crit? MP5? On a side note, while leveling, I had been using all the crit gear I gathered, but found I was running low on mana fairly often and needing to stop and drink. So, I switched to using all the mp5/spell power gear (what I would have used for a healing set), instead… which gave me more spell power in the end, but low crit…yet was still able to be competitive in dps, and need to drink less often. Of course, the group I usually run with just aoe’s everything down so I’m using hurricane often (and this is in 5-man’s). TL;DR? After hit, what stats do I need to stack for level 80 raiding? And what would be the recommended minimum amount to stack? Thanks in advance for your replies.

You should of kicked him after you asked him not to do it several times. Or if he drew aggro let him die, repetitively. Hunter rhinos do something similar it is just as irritating. I ask them to not do it and if they refuse to listen they go bye bye or if I am not lead I go bye bye. You are dealing with the same thing. I recommend the same answer.-Day light savings is for fools. Ive never really played balance and am completely unfamiliar with wotlk, i havnt played in a while. But instead of lvling my shaman up i decided to level my mid 60s druid. I have decided to roll him as a tank, simply because ive never done it(my shaman had decent sets for all three specs so ive done heals, melee dps, and caster dps). So im doing something new. Ive also decided to level him mostly through instances, so i can get a good handle on tanking before 80. Well ive ran about 10 or 12 instances now as the tank and ive been doing great. Ive had a couple issues thought. love their growl(idk actual name) a litte too much, but thats off topic. The real issue i had today was a moonkin who used typhoon every CD….is it really that good of dps? because the knock back mechanic drives me crazy. It seems like every time i have a group of mobs where i want them he would move em around with his knockback so my swipes werent hitting clean anymore, frequently they wouldnt be in the tight little pack id originally had them in. It just came off as extremely annoying and he would not stop because he “loved the spell” so much. Even after repeated requests….is it that crucial for moonkin dps? or is it something people just love to do because of the cool effect.

I’m too lazy to look at your armory, but honestly, all the tier pieces will be a decent upgrade from 226 pieces so it won’t really matter much what order you get them in. I have my off piece as chest. Got really nice legs so may change. Not really sure yet but ya the 4 piece for tanking is sweet.-Day light savings is for fools. I think I’m missing something with this whole boomkin thing. I just recently started leveling up my boomkin/healer druid (currently 76), and find that I tend to pull a lot of threat. This is even when I’m not AoEing, or waiting a minute for the tank to get aggro. Is there any threat dumping abilities that I’m missing that I should use? Or should I just pretty much melee my way through dungeons (obvious joke)? Also, as I’m still searching through these threads and reading up on EJ, as I’m getting closer to 80, I feel as though I should probably start focusing on gearing a certain way. I’ve practically have been grabbing whatever I could that had SP on it (no matter if it’d be better for healing or boom). And the gear I have is what I use for both specs. Obviously, I’m using the staff, shoulders and chestpiece right now for the xp gain. Currently sitting on about 26 emblems of triumphs which would make it easy for me to at least pick up one or so Tier pieces once I hit 80 (depending on how long I take my time to get there). I’m also planning on running the ICC Reg 5 mans once I get to the minimum level (going to try to get my own group together as to not get by pugs due to my low level). I know I will need a lot more hit (I think I’m only in the double digits, so it’s bad). But at my level, I’m not doing too horribly in dungeons dps wise (VH, DTK, etc). I can usually pull around 1500 dps (to my surprise I saw over 2500 the other day in VH… then again I was AoEing lol). Anywho, I guess the main point of this post is: Are there any threat dumping abilities that I should use other than waiting for a while for the tank to get aggro? And… HALP meh figur mai gearz! Currently my stable is a level 46 Humar named Remorse, a level 60 LBRS Worg named Fenris (lol rappoccio, get your own name ) and my ZG Windserpent Zephyr. I was tempted to tame a Ravager, dropping Humar or my wolf, but I’m holding off on that for a while. There’s just too much to do in BC atm, and I’m loving every minute of it, even if the lag is absolute killer around Honor Hold. I’m going to stick with my Wind Serpent until I can replace him at level 66 with one of the new wind serpent skins. The black one looks particularly awesome. Next on my list is a warp stalker, though I might hold off on that one until they release a tameable red skin one, the white and green don’t really do it for me. For my last slot I was thinking about a carrion bird, I think the green, two headed skin looks fantastic. If you’re after a Ravager right away, there are some in the South West. Pick up a quest by the Zeppelin wreck to get their eggs while you’re in the neighbourhood. Level 60.54 Here’s my stable now: -ZG Panther (ArlokksBane) -ZG Bloodseeker Bat (Jinx) -LBRS Worg (Fenrir) I’m giddy with excitement at the new pets. I haven’t decided what to nix/what to keep. I’ll stick with Fenrir for sure, and perhaps ArlokksBane because I always love kitties, so that leaves a replacement for Jinx. Options: -Ravager: Offensive, can learn gore, can tame tonight if I find one [] -Dragonhawk: Offensive, fire breath, definately going to grab one of these in the high-70′s. Damned lucky BE hunters can get it now (grumble grumble). They also get a really awesome looking cat here -A newer owl skin: I like this skin, looks great. Might replace my bat with this one because screech is teh leetz. -Warp stalker: These look freaking awesome. Warp seems interesting, I’d like to try it out… but this will have to wait for late-60′s. So what’s everyone else going to be getting? EDIT: Forgot the warp stalker. And yeah you need to keep fighting with it until it says “you have learned Thunderstomp Rank 3″ in your combat log, or look in your list of trainable pet abilities, scroll all the way to the bottom to were the abilities are grey (meaning he already knows them) and see if thunderstomp is listed in there, if not then you havnt learned it yet-Wheels Darigraz to North wrote:I is not liking this idea of stepping in offices, the office of you is sounds like a Hottopic where all the transvestite makeup men hangs out and talks about havings sex with they fall out boy.
